Optometrist
Dr. Reid Cluff originally hails from Orem, UT. He did his undergraduate studies at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, CO. He then graduated from optometry school in San Antonio, TX at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenburg School of Optometry with his Doctor of Optometry degree. Graduating summa cum laude, he took an active leadership role in the American Optometric Student Association. Additionally, he was inducted into both Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Societies.
Following graduation, he completed a residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, focusing on corneal disease and specialty contact lenses. With this specialized training, Dr. Cluff enjoys fitting “medically necessary” and “hard to fit” contact lenses on patients with keratoconus, high astigmatism, corneal transplants, dry eyes, as well as many other corneal and ocular surface diseases. One of his other passions is to provide myopia management services for young children. Treatment and management of myopia (near-sightedness) is designed to help children slow or halt the progression of their near-sighted glasses prescription. In addition to these specialized services, Dr. Cluff also offers primary eye care services for glasses and soft contact lenses as well as medical office visits and diabetic eye exams.
In addition to caring for patients at Slate Canyon Eye Care, he is also a full-time faculty member at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions College of Optometric Medicine. Teaching students the art and science of optometry gives him great joy as he strives to enthusiastically educate the next generation of optometrists. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, running, martial arts, and being in Utah’s great outdoors!
